Every young person should feel confident, equipped and inspired to make healthy choices and to build strong relationships.
Our young people are relentlessly pursued by messages from the surrounding culture, at a pace and intensity no previous generation has experienced. The influence of media and the increased amount of time lived online and through social media, is leading to confusion, misinformation and false expectations around sexual choices and behaviour.
Young people should have the time, space, and tools to think through how these narratives influence them as they develop their own attitudes, values and beliefs.
Through our school & community programmes, we remind every young person of their uniqueness, value and worth. We equip them to thrive through the changes and challenges of adolescence. We support them to confidently identify and respond to influences and pressures around relationships and sex. We encourage them to explore the skills and values needed to build healthy relationships.
But the messages from culture are loud and persistent.
